Labor is your largest cost. Now you can measure its output.
Finance gets asked to approve headcount, defend raises and find savings, usually without data on how time is used. CyberWall Insights turns activity into numbers you can model: utilization, capacity in FTE, and the monthly cost of the gap between goal and actual.
| Team | Under goal | FTE gap | $ / month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Customer service | 4 | 0.9 | $3,900 |
| Accounting | 3 | 0.6 | $2,600 |
| Sales | 2 | 0.3 | $1,300 |
Finance gets the bill, but not the breakdown
Headcount requests without evidence
Every department says it's stretched. You need a way to compare those claims.
No way to size lost time
Idle time and distractions cost something. Without a number, it never makes the budget discussion.
Software seats nobody uses
Subscriptions renew automatically. Usage rarely gets checked.
Data you can't export
A dashboard you can't pull into a spreadsheet doesn't help a finance team much.
A defensible estimate of what lost time costs
Enter one average salary and a productive-hours goal. Insights calculates the users under goal, the untapped capacity in FTE, and the cost of the gap per month and per year. The method is simple enough to explain in a board meeting.
- Monthly and annualized cost
- By team and by shortfall band
- One average salary, no individual pay data in the tool
| Team | Under goal | FTE gap | $ / month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Customer service | 4 | 0.9 | $3,900 |
| Accounting | 3 | 0.6 | $2,600 |
| Sales | 2 | 0.3 | $1,300 |
Test a hiring request against measured capacity
Before approving a new role, check the requesting team's utilization. If several people sit above the over-utilization threshold, the case is strong. If there's spare capacity in FTE, there may be room to rebalance first.
- Over- and under-utilization by team
- Untapped capacity in FTE
- Trends across months
Pull the data into your own models
Every report exports to CSV. Bring utilization, daily work metrics or application usage into Excel and combine it with payroll and revenue data you already have.
- CSV export of reports
- Per-event activity log for detail
- Application usage to check software spend

Questions we hear
How accurate is the cost-of-the-gap figure?
It's an estimate built from measured productive hours, your goal and one average salary. Treat it as a sizing number. Work away from the computer, like phone calls and site visits, isn't captured, so set goals to match.
Do we need to load each employee's salary?
No. You enter one average salary. Individual pay stays out of Insights.
Does Insights connect to our payroll or accounting system?
Not today. Reports export to CSV so you can join them with payroll data in your own tools.
How is Insights billed?
CyberWall invoices monthly at $4 per active user, counting only people active in the last 30 days. If you also use CyberWall Shield, Insights can be added to that relationship.
Can we estimate before buying?
Yes. Try the cost of lost time calculator, then use the 14-day trial to replace the estimate with measured data.
Bring real utilization numbers to your next budget meeting.
Two weeks of trial data is enough for a first, measured cost-of-the-gap figure.
